When did we declare WAR on germs and bacteria?
I've read many conflicting reports stating that all these antibacterial products on the market may be harmful to us eventually. Stronger strains of virus and disease are on the rise and our immune systems may not be able to cope even with strongest vaccinations if we continually shield ourselves from germs. Let's weaken ourselves as much as possible in the meantime.
TIP: Remember to wash your hands vigorously under scolding hot water, pull out your fingernails and leave no trace of fingerprints on your smooth, featureless hands. Then splash a little antibacterial soap on those puppies just in case. |
Is this entertainment or educational?
Well, with the disclaimer out of the way, I can't help but feel a sadness come over me. Children under the age of 18 years old are being exposed, influenced and molded by some ridiculous messages, slogans and imagery from advertisers. In fact, we all are. So, I'm hoping that this site is more than just entertaining but enlightening as well. I feel like we all need a reality slap from time-to-time to show us how insane this pseudo-reality can be.
So, why ad parodies?
I am well aware that we live in a free market, capitalist system. Corporations and advertisers can sell their products or services in a number of different ways. I also know there are limitations and regulations enforced both by the government (FCC) and social structures that we currently have in place. But sometimes I sense we are asleep at the wheel and too busy or preoccupied to realize what the effects of all this 'ad bombardment' has on our lives and relationships. Parodies are my way of venting I suppose.
What's the message?
I'm sure you've been stopped in your tracks a few times when it came to a TV, Radio, Print, Web or Billboard Ad. Do you remember why? Was it shock or awe? Sex? Fear? Desire? Humor? Some of the ads I've created here are just silly and outlandish. Others are intended to make you think about the limits of our social structure when it comes to advertising. Just how far is too far? Sometimes, it is hard to distinguish.
